One day is not much, but it is enough to feel the city if you plan with care. This route keeps travel short and leaves space to rest. Check temple timings on the day, as they can change.
Early morning
Start with darshan at Mahakaleshwar. If you have registered for the Bhasma Aarti, you will begin in the dark and return for a wash and breakfast. Otherwise, join the general queue in the morning.
Late morning
Walk through the Mahakal Lok corridor in the cool of the day, and stop at Bade Ganeshji nearby.
Midday
Return for lunch and a rest. Midday is the hottest and busiest time to be outside, and a break makes the evening much more enjoyable.
Afternoon
Take an auto to Kal Bhairav Temple, and, if you have energy, Mangalnath. Agree the fare before you start.
Evening
Visit Harsiddhi Temple around dusk, when its lamp pillars begin to glow, then walk to Ram Ghat for the Shipra aarti.
If you have extra time
- Add Sandipani Ashram or the Vedh Shala in the afternoon.
- Skip Mangalnath if the group is tired.
- Extend to two days with our 2-day itinerary.
Tips
- Book a room close to the temple to save energy.
- Carry water, ID and a light shawl.
- Avoid Mondays in Shravan if you want a shorter wait.
